In 2013, Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. released an OpenADR 2.0a compliant VEN, which enables for service providers such as aggregators to widely deploy their demand response services. For further enhancement of the VEN functionalities, Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., has recently developed an OpenADR2.0b compliant VEN running on multiple platforms while occupying a very small foot print. The VEN opens up new business opportunities for aggregators by seamlessly connecting various types of measuring devices and load devices.
